Afolabi is an actor and filmmaker trained at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. His work spans theatre, film,television, and games, with credits including the National Theatre, the RSC,Netflix, and the BBC, and a lead role in the BAFTA nominated game Valorant.

Alongside his creative work, he is deeply committed to widening access to the arts for young people. He is a trustee of the National Youth Arts Trust, where he helped develop their first Actor Mentoring Programme, and advises a number of other organisations. He is also the author of YA novels The Changing Man and We Are Hunted, known for their suspense, adventure, and bold Black protagonists.
